The house has an area of about 160 square metres. It is very spacious, with a large living and dining room, a room (double bed) with a bathroom, a kitchen, another bathroom and a “mezzanine” with a double bed, over the living room. So it can lodge four people (plus 2 extra single beds), making it an ideal house for family holidays. In front of the house there is a terrace and a small lawn, with a view over the plantation of proteas and the other house and its lawns. In the back there is a small greenhouse and a nursery where the small protea plants are propagated.We believe that our house can be an excellent starting point to discover and enjoy the beautiful island of S. Miguel.

The municipality of Lagoa, on the south coast of the island of S. Miguel, has about 8,000 inhabitants.

The main economic activities include the production of milk, crops like tobacco and sugar beet, and fishing.

Since the 19th century the village of Lagoa has been the centre of the regional pottery industry. You can visit the factory – Cerâmica Vieira – where the typical “louça da Lagoa” (Lagoa pottery) is made.

Apart from the following facilities (a post office, banks, schools, churches, a health care centre, a chemist’s, restaurants, cafés, petrol stations, …), Lagoa has a small fishing harbour and an excellent outdoor swimming-pool.
